Not only is Farmville, North Carolina, beautiful, but it also hosts some of the best festivals in the state and beyond. That includes the famous Dogwood Festival, which offers fun for the entire family. So, if you’re looking for something fun and exciting, be sure to add this event to your calendar.
When and Where
This year, the annual Dogwood Festival will begin on Thursday, April 27, and end on Sunday, April 30. Hosted by the Farmville community, it’s entertained people for the past 33 years. It’s held on the beautifully manicured lawn of the Farmville Town commons at 3672 North Main St.
As for parking, you’ll find available space on the corners of South Main and Grimmersburg streets. If you buy tickets now through April 28, you’ll pay $20. However, if you buy them at the Town Hall Building after that date, the price will increase to $25. Either way, that’s a bargain considering everything the festival offers.
Fantastic Scenery
The majestic oak and dogwood trees surrounding the Town Commons area will immediately grab your attention. They include Oak, Dogwood, and others. However, the city also plants gorgeous flowers each year. So, along with the stunning trees, you’ll see pops of vibrant colors on display thanks to the perennials and annuals.
Things to Do and See
You’ll love the diversity of the Dogwood Festival. After all, it offers things to do and see for both children and adults.
Rides
Included in the ticket purchase price, you can enjoy all the rides for that day. In addition to rides, here are some other things that’ll happen as part of the festival.
Live Music
You’ll even enjoy live music from talented country and southern rock bands. For one thing, the community chooses the best bands available. For another thing, the concerts don’t cost a dime. Depending on the date you go, you’ll hear one of these bands.

- I-42 Band
- Nashville recording artists – Matt Stell and Travis Denning
Arts and Crafts
Walking around, you’ll discover a wide assortment of arts and crafts. In addition, you can stop by one of the many commercial vendor booths for demonstrations, free product samples, or to buy something.
Movie Under the Stars
