What Is Pop Art?
Even if you’re not familiar with the term, you’ve almost certainly seen an example of Pop Art at some point in your life. The movement emerged during the 1950’s in both America and Britain as an artistic response to the turbulent social climate and consumerism that marked the era.

They found inspiration in the mundane and ordinary and had an affinity for heavy irony, wit, and social criticism.
Perhaps the most prominent and recognized artist to rise out of the Pop Art movement was Andy Warhol. You might recognize some of his most well-known work, like Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyn Diptych. Warhol was arguably the defining figure of in the movement, as his influence can still be found it works of art today.
